A/N: A birthday drabble fortelperion_15. Just a quickie sweetie, but I think you mentioned there wasn't enough Nick/Lester
Sir James Lester and Professor Nick Cutter had met with mutual suspicion and dislike. To anyone watching that first meeting it would seem inconceivable that they would be lovers a year later and impossible that it was Lester who had carried out the romantic pursuit with dedication and persistence.
But then they wouldn't have seen Cutter smile at a living fossil in Lester's presence. Cutter's smile lit up his whole face, like the sun bursting out from behind dark rain clouds, unexpected and beautiful.
That was why Lester wooed and pursued Cutter. To see him smile that way at him.
