Primeval: Slashing with Dinosaurs

This is jhava's fault. We were having an IM conversation about Primeval and how it was just a bit slashy. We decided it was so slashy you could write a tutorial on how to spot slash using it. Well that was just too good an idea to forget about. So here it is an illustrated slasher's guide to Primeval.



This is Professor Nick Cutter. He's hot and stubbly.


This Stephen Hart, Nick's 'lab assistant'. He's really pretty.


And he's got really long eyelashes.


Nick and Stephen have been together for at least 8 years. They don't really have an issue with personal space:

Stephen's a bit protective of Nick. Take this situation. Nick, Stephen and Abby (another team member) and under attack from a pteranodon. Stephen (when poisoned by centipede venom) asked Abby out. So, who is Stephen going to try and save?


Nick or Abby? Abby or Nick? Oh, let the bint look after herself.


Stephen knows where his priorities lie:


And when Nick is lost underground, Stephen just has to go and rescue him. Of course, Stephen gets hurt and Nick has to comfort him:

Quick aside. When I was screencapping these pics, I was going through the above scene frame by frame. I kept thinking 'they can't get any closer', 'they can't possibly get any closer' and they just kept on getting closer. Gobsmackingly closer.

Well hurt/comfort is so nice. And there's certainly plenty of fan-service here:


That's it for the pics, but there's more slash that you can't screencap. Like Stephen's girlfriend who has arrived back after studying infectious diseases in Brazil. But we never see her. I think that's a Girlfriend, who Lives in Canada, for those who've seen AvenueQ. And when it comes out that Stephen slept with Nick's not-quite-dead-as-we'd-like wife, Nick is way more upset that Nick betrayed him than that his wife did.

I tell you guys. If this series got any slashier they'd have to call it Torchwood. Bring on Series 2!
