We had a great time this weekend. I spent most of Saturday frantically tidying and cooking and blowing up lilos. Em and Chris arrived (after a slight detour to the middle of Manchester!) bearing beer and chocolate. We ate and drank and watched videos. CAH and Rev7:8 so I could show off my Vancouver photos of the Jimmy Scene. We introduced Chris to Stickboy. Chris said that I'd changed her perception of the two eps forever - all I asked was why didn't they have any lightbulbs at the base, and suggested that Silas walked like that because they'd run out of loo roll. Then we watched Uncovered - hmm young and slimey PW!!! Yummy!! Then it was time for X-Men2 - more Peter! Peter in badly coloured panda makeup!! Peter and the Tripod of Doom!!! Em was falling asleep at this point so we all went to bed before we had to carry her upstairs.
This morning we had a leisurely start, much fic talk over brekkie - slashy goodness. We piled into my car and headed off for Leeds and the armoury museum, which we found without getting lost! Yay!!! And we had a great time going round the museum. We saw a couple of demonstrations and watched the 'tournament' (resisting the effort to sing 'We will rock you'!), Em and Chris were squeeing over the horses. Then we went round the museum, ignoring the guns (feh!!) and going Hmmm Pointy! Hmmm Shiny!! Most beautiful exhibit was a katana with an exquisite wave pattern on the blade. We spent at least 5 hours there and we ended up having a look at the animals, horses and hawks. We decided that the look in a peregrine falcon's eye is the same as in Kronos' - psychopathic!
Then it was back to Manchester and Chris and Em left. *sob* But it was a bazzing weekend and I really enjoyed having them to stay.
