Why does the dragon only attack at night?

I really shouldn't have watched this ep with my Mum because I was snivelling dreadfully.

I was really hoping that Arthur had clocked that Merlin was Balinor's son, but no, he has to be blind, deaf and stupid once again.

I guess it really sucks to be a ~~red-shirt~~Knight of Camelot. But did they have to toast The Speaking Knight as well?

Dear Merlin Producers, much as I enjoy Merlin saving the day. Can you please come up with a better solution than having Arthur ride in, get knocked unconscious and then Merlin kidding him on that he did it really. Next series, you have to let Arthur find out about Merlin's magic. Please. Really.
